As an educational leader, my job is to foster excellent teachers, facilitate quality work, and ensure that students receive a world-class education. To that end, I listen to and learn from teachers, while also building relationships with administrators, students, parents, and others in our community.

Communication is a critical factor in the success of any school. Every student needs the support of a team of adults – teachers, parents and administrators – working together to ensure a safe learning environment and high academic achievement. I believe communities have a responsibility to do the right thing for each individual student, whatever it takes.

Leadership in schools must be focused on the continuous improvement of instruction including the implementation of effective interventions to help all students succeed. Through innovation and imagination our schools can put students’ welfare first, while raising academic standards and strengthening entire communities.
